Affiliate FAQ's

What is a vendor, and what is an affiliate?

Your PayGear account allows you to be both a vendor and an affiliate.  A vendor is the creator of a product which is sold in the marketplace.  An affiliate is an Internet marketer who earns commissions for recommending products listed in the marketplace.  A Vendor pays their affiliate a commission for each sale made by that affiliate.

How will I receive my affiliate commissions?
You can receive your commissions by either PayPal or check. You will receive payment by the end of the following month.

As an affiliate, how much can I earn?
Commissions range anywhere from 5% to 95%, determined by the vendor of the product. Pick the products that fit your customers the best; there is no limit to how much you can earn.

Rather than selling specific products or services, can I just refer members to the PayGear marketplace and let them pick the products they are interested in?
Yes, you will receive commissions by just sending customers to the marketplace. If they make a purchase, you receive credit for that purchase.

If I refer someone and they come back another day to buy, will I still get credit for the sale?
Yes, even if the customer comes back a year later and makes the purchase, you will still receive credit for the sale.

How many products can I promote at one time?
As many as you wish. There is no limit to how many products you may promote.

Can I make a purchase with my own affiliate link?
Yes, if you can refer someone else, you can refer yourself, as well.

How do I change my account information, such as email, account password, name vendors should send checks to, etc.
To change any of your account information, just login and click the Account Details link.

What is a back commission?
A back commission means the vendor has already paid the affiliate for an order, but the order was later refunded by the vendor.  The commission will be refunded to the vendor at the next billing cycle.

How are affiliate commissions calculated?
Vendors decide how much they wish to share with their affiliates.  They may select commissions anywhere between 5-95%.

My affiliate payout was not as large as I expected.  Why not?
There could be several reasons.  If any orders were refunded, those sales would be removed from your affiliate payout.  If a sale from the previous payout was later refunded, that would also be removed from the latest payout.

Also, remember that affiliates split PayGear fees with the vendors.  So if the vendor pays a 50% affiliate commission, the affiliate is responsible for 50% of the PayGear fees. If the vendor pays a 33% commission, the affiliate will be responsible for 33% of the PayGear fees. These will be deducted from your affiliate payout.

Can the Vendor tell which affiliate sent them the sale?
Yes, vendors will receive information about each sale, including which affiliate sent them the sale.

Can I receive credit for sending new members to PayGear?
Of course you can!  In fact, we recommend that you put instructions on your website to show your visitors how to sign up for your affiliate program.  Once they join, they will automatically be added into your affiliate database so you can then contact them any time. Plus, you will receive 30% of every transaction fee paid to PayGear by your referred member for as long as they stay a member.

When will I receive the commission for referring new users to PayGear?
Commissions will be awarded in the month following the sale. If your vendor uses auto pay they may also select weekly payouts (Monday).

What are my PayGear referral/affiliate links?
You may access your affiliate link for any product by selecting Promote >> My Affiliate Products >> Manage Campaign. All your affiliate tools will be on this page including your affiliate link.
